Phil Harnden Standard

WNYSRA - Phil Harnden

This is the beautiful ’86 Camaro of Phil Harnden of Spencerport, NY, competing at our home track, Empire Dragway. This photo was taken in September of 2013 by Empire Dragway’s official track photographer, Ron Rigby.  Phil’s Camaro is powered by a 380 cid Chevrolet engine, and is coupled to Powerglide transmission with a 1.96 first gear and torque converter from BDR Torque Converters. The car was originally built by Jeff Hoyt Race Cars, but was updated last year by Torrelli Pro Cars. The car is sponsored by BDR Torque Converters and McGuire Motorsports, though Phil also wanted to thank Chris…

Vince Gregoire Standard

WNYSRA - Vince Gregoire

Vince Gregoire of Lakeview, NY owns and drives this GORGEOUS ’55 Chevy Bel Air. Vince is a multi-time IHRA Pro-Am Tour winner, and regular competitor on the Super Rod scene throughout the Northeast.  Vince’s car is a Jerry Bickel tube chassis powered by a 421 cid small block Chevrolet engine by Wellers Competition Engines, and is coupled to a Competition Transmissions torque converter and Powerglide with a 1.76:1 first gear. The immaculate paint and body work on the car was done by Dean Galovich.  Vince said that none of this would be possible without the support of his loving wife,…

Matt Gregoire Standard

WNYSRA - Matt Gregorie

This beautiful 1966 Chevy II belongs to Matt Gregoire. It’s clearly evident that when 3rd generation racer Matt isn’t at Frontier High School teaching shop (tell me he isn’t the coolest shop teacher around), or working as Owner / Operator of Damorie Construction, that he’s spending time in his garage polishing this beauty in preparation for race day.  The original, all-steel Chevy II is propelled by a 406 cid Chevy engine by Tom’s Performance. The engine is equipped with Brodix 18° cylinder heads, Hogan’s intake manifold, and dual 750 cfm carburetors. That stout piece is mated to a Powerglide transmission…

Eric Macchiaroli Standard

WNYSRA - Eric Macchiaroli

This is Eric Macchiaroli and his vivid 1980 Plymouth Arrow. Eric just finished re-doing this car, and we must say that we love the new look! The car is powered by a Bob George Racing built 499 cid low-deck Mopar with CNC ported Indy SR cylinder heads. It has a Powerglide transmission with an Ultimate Converter Concepts torque converter, and runs 5.60’s in the 1/8th mile or 8.80 in the 1/4 mile all-out.  Oh, and most importantly, it’s sponsored by the love of his beautiful wife, Heather.
